Hong Kong Wedding - Wedding banquet (3) (05/2005)

Once dinner had gotten underway, it was time for some fun and games. I had to prove I picked up some Cantonese and Chinese habits, which of course I have!

First, my parents made a little speech (unplanned, they were given about 2 minutes to prepare), but a good one nonetheless.

Then I had to prove some skills in Chinese. First of all, matching the English phrase to the Chinese phrase. Janice had to pronounce the Chinese and I had to match the English phrase with it. I got 5 out of 5, thanks to a course I followed in London (not very long, but long enough apparently!)

And then I had to prove I could handle chopsticks. I had 90 seconds to pick up 9 M&M's. I got to 7, which is quite respectable. But still we had to drink because I fell short of the mark.

This is harder than it looks.  Loud cheers from Kamy! Punishment.

And here is an insight into Janice's mind. Janice had to do the same, pick up 9 M&M's in 90 seconds. As a Chinese person, that is a piece of cake, you'd think. Wrong. She picked up exactly zero in half a minute and decided to cheat by pushing them from one plate to the other. And claimed victory afterwards.

Cheating in progress. Look at the face. And still claiming vicory!

After dinner there were card games to be played. Simple drinking game, lowest card drinks. My father had a tendency to cheat though...

Show your card. Lowest one drinks.
