Click here for the Hong Kong wedding overview. With the photo shoot behind us, we made our way to the Park Lane hotel for our wedding banquet. This took a while as we were early. Janice had to be made up and the guests slowly started to drip in. The photographer got bored and started taking pictures of lifeless objects before the barrage of posing pictures. At least we are in the right place. That is us. The pink cloth is the head table, where we will be sitting with the close family. The other pictures are the reception area and a menu.
Making sure the corsage is still correct and then the first of many posing pictures. Chinese weddings are about posing with every person there. At least once and preferably more. And I hate posing. But the people expect it and you cannot disappoint them.
I will spare you the pictures of the fake cake. This is the real one. The one we got to eat.
And here is a small selection of pictures taken with everyone we invited. Note that Janice changed a few times between the western and Chinese wedding dress. I was not too keen on the Chinese dress when I saw it in the shops (I put it mildly) and quickly vetoed the male version of it (as if they had my size anyway) but I have to admit she looks lovely in it (and she is not standing behind me whilst I type this).
