April 13th was my father's birthday and as it was Easter Friday as well, it was a good excuse to visit Amsterdam and Janice. So we flew to Amsterdam from Philadelphia and London respectively to spend the weekend at my parent's place. Unfortunately there were no pictures taken with my digital camera there. But I did take it with me the Saturday night when we had an evening with friends in the pub at the Heinekenplein in Amsterdam. We decided to check into a hotel first, where we had a pleasant surprise. They decided to give us the John and Yoko honeymoon suite, the hotel room where John Lennon and Yoko Ono famously spent their week in bed at their honeymoon.
The first picture shows the bed and the famous window with the 'Peace' writing. The second picture is of the seating area. No I cannot play the guitar, the stand is right next to the sofa. You can see a lot of John and Yoko stuff on the wall. The third picture is Janice showing off the bath. It was huge, about 2 meters diameter and just looked wonderful. That is the kind of bath I would like in my home!
We had a good time in the pub. These pictures are taken after a few beers (sorry, alcohol free beers for Nico) as you can see by the colouring. The first is taken by Janice (who cleared the table next to us in order to make the picture), the second is self-explanatory. Doesn't she look happy?
